Electrical containment installation in London
Steel conduit, cable tray, cable basket, trunking and ladder rack for power and data, installed with level runs, clean junctions and careful setting out. Containment is a specialism at ODO.
The right route for every cable.
Each system has its place. Choosing well makes an installation safer, neater and easier to extend.
Galvanised steel conduit
Robust, exposed runs for plant rooms, car parks, warehouses and industrial-style interiors. Set, bent and threaded on site so runs follow the building cleanly.
Cable tray
Perforated tray for main cable routes through ceilings and risers, with fabricated bends, tees and drops to suit the structure.
Cable basket
Lightweight wire basket for data and power, quick to install and easy to add cables to later.
Trunking
Steel and PVC trunking, plus dado and perimeter trunking that brings power and data to desks.
Ladder rack
Heavy-duty support for large SWA cables and sub-mains over long spans.
Data containment
Dedicated routes for structured cabling, segregated from power where required.
What good containment looks like.
Containment is often left exposed, so it has to be right. These are the things we take care over.
- Setting out. Routes planned around other services, with levels and drops set before fixing.
- Clean bends and junctions. Square, consistent sets and fabricated fittings rather than improvised joins.
- Correct support. Fixings and support spacing suited to the system and the load it carries.
- Capacity for the future. Sized with room for additional cables, not just what is needed today.
- Continuity and segregation. Metallic containment bonded where required, power and data kept apart.
Learned on larger commercial projects.
The electrician behind ODO has installed conduit, tray and trunking systems on larger commercial projects, including rooftop plant, smoke ventilation and data installations, while working as part of wider project teams. That experience is now available directly to clients and contractors.
Containment questions.
Do you install containment only, or the cabling too?
Either. We install containment as a package for contractors, or as part of a complete electrical and data installation, where one installer takes responsibility for the route and the cables in it.
Can you work from drawings?
Yes. We can price and install from containment layouts and M&E drawings, or set out routes on site where there is no design.
Which containment is right for my project?
It depends on the environment, the cables being carried, appearance and future access. Exposed areas often suit galvanised conduit; large cable routes suit tray, basket or ladder; offices often use dado or perimeter trunking. We’ll recommend what suits the space.
Do you install data containment?
Yes. Basket and tray for data routes, with power and data segregated as required, often installed together with the structured cabling.
